Tonight, the beautiful Ivan Sarcos will crown her successor. After almost 1 month of preparations, challenge events, and tours, a new girl will be wearing that “Blue Crown”.
Here are My Personal Picks for Miss World 2012 Top 30
Being one of semi finalists in most challenge events, crowning Queenie as Miss World 2012 is not gonna be a suprise. She has what it takes to be crowned, from her name to her determination to get it. Her extra ordinary beatboxing skills became viral in the internet will be an additional points for sure. She may not have the perfect beauty everyone look for, but she is a definition of a Miss World Beauty.
WOW and WOW. For me she is the most beautiful Miss World Candidate this year. Her beauty and fierceness is screaming Miss Universe too.Her regal beauty and sophistication are her advantages to be on top.
Inner Mongolia as a Chinese teritory will play a big role for her to place this year and of course she showed best performance in all challenge events.I’ll give credit to her performance in Top Model, a classic oriental beauty.
Her beauty is just stunning.Very regal.
Leading most of the challenge events along with her natural black beauty will put her to the top.
Another stunner from this year’s batch. Her beauty is just captivating. Gorgeous body. I want her to win the beach Fashion.
Her height is really her advantage. She is the best among all the black candidate this year. If we will have a black Miss World this year, I want that to be Miss South SUdan.

Miss World is the longest running international beauty pageant which started in 1951 by Eric Morley, now headed by his wife Julia, after he died.
In more than 6 decades of this pageant, no Filipina ever wore that “blue crown”. We almost got it in 1973 and 2011, when Evangeline Pascual and Gwendoline Ruais were crowned as First Princess.
Before the 62nd Edition of this pageant, I took time to research about our journey and the success of our representatives in Miss World.
We first joined the Miss World Pageant in 1966, and the candidate was chosen by College Editors Guild of the Philippines.
In 1967, the Top 10 Fashion Models of the Philippines organizer picked a number of models to choose our representative to the pageant.
Beauty World Ltd. got the Philippine franchise holder of Miss World in 1968. This year we got our first placement in the pageant, when our representative won as 4th Runner Up.
Ferdie Villar of Spotlight Promotions took over the franchise in 1969 thru Miss Republic of the Philippines Pageant.
In 1977, Miss World Franchise was transferred to Mutya ng Pilipinas, added to its 2 other Titles, Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia and Tourism.
Miss World franchise was given to Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. in 1992 headed by Stella Marquez Araneta added to its two titles, Bb.Pilipinas- Universe and Bb. Pilipinas- International.
In 2011, Julia Morley visited the Philippines together with Miss World 2010 Winner, Alexandria Mills to personally award the franchise to CQGlobal Quest Inc. headed by Cory Quirino.
In one of Morley’s statement during her visit, she mentioned that her primary reason to hold an individual pageant for Miss World in the Philippines is to focus more on Miss World vision to raise funds for their beneficiaries and she wants to be more involved and stand alone for Filipino Children.
On September 18, 2011, the first Miss World Philippines Pageant was held. The pageant is using a slogan “Beauty in Giving” inspired from Miss World Limited’s “Beauty with a Purpose”
On Saturday, August 18, 2012, the 62nd edition of Miss World Pageant will be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. The Finals night will be broadcast in TV 5.

Bb. #9 Mary Jean Lastimosa – This fair lady was in my Bb Pilipinas list of favorites last year (2011). She placed 2nd Runner-up at the time. Now the big question is- will she finally grab one of the crowns the second time around? Well, she definitely has the face of a winner – her sharp and stunning looks will surely be noticed in any of the big international pageants if she does win. Aside from looks, Mary Jean Lastimosa has an excruciatingly tiny waistline – how did she whittle it down to that size? Must be the work-outs and the diet under the tutelage of fitness instructor John Jay Cuay.
So, what do we know about MJ Lastimosa? She is part Arabic and part Filipino… she is Davaoeña… and well, she plays the…

This year’s Miss World Designer Award was held on July 26, 2012 in Shanghai,China. All Miss World Candidates walked the runaway wearing a gown designed by a designer in their own country. This year, the winner of this award will earn points for the candidate towards the final Miss World tally board.
I am not a fashion expert, but took time to review the photos and videos of the event to come up with my personal picks. I based it on the details of the design, how the girls carry the gown and the trend based on the previous winners of World designer award.
Designer: Michael Cinco

Designer: Erol Abayrak
A turquoise coloured evening gown which is a modern yet epic statement of Turkish culture. The design fuses Turkish heritage and tradition with the glittering world of fashion. The word turquoise is derived from the word Turkish, and colour has been deliberately chosen by the designer because it is a vivid, strong and powerful yet calm colour. The gown has a thigh high split on the left side and is half transparent and embroidered with tulips, and the traditional Turkish ottoman flower which stands for devotion, belief and love. The delicate flowing fabric of the skirt adds a touch of lightness to the gown.
