My Miss Earth 2012 Hot Picks
Stephany Stefanowitz, 23 years old, will be competing tonight for Miss Earth 2012 crown in our home country. In the last few weeks, she has been participating in different activities and gaining medals to earn points for the finals night.
Steph, a 5’9′ Filipina-German freelance model, was a second timer in the local Miss Earth competition. She first joined Miss Earth Philippines in 2010 but only finished as a semi finalists.
Many pageant fans were disappointed with her because at the early part of Miss Earth 2012 competition she seems not fit when she appeared in swimsuit during the press presentation. But as days passed, Steph showed improvements and gained medals in some activities which will help candidates to get a spot in the semi finals.
After hometown girls got the Miss World and Miss International this year, many reacted that its becoming a trend in the international pageant and Steph may bring home the crown because of this.
With Steph’s performaces in the recent activities, she has big chance of making to the semi final’s or can get our 2nd Miss Earth crown. Her experiences as a model will be her advantage in the competition.
Miss Earth is very unpredictable and its gonna be everybody’s game on the finals night.Aside from beauty, Miss Earth is also focusing on its environmental advocacy and the girl that possesses both beauty and love for our Mother Earth will surely get the crown.
Here’s the Web Interview of Miss Earth Philippines from Miss Earth Website:
What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?
There are a lot of things we can do for our environment, but the best thing we can actually do is to promote environmental awareness to our people, and especially to our children who are our future. School tours, seminars about the current situation of our environment and more tree planting activities to make people realize its importance.
What makes you proud of your country and what can you promote about it?
The Philippines is home to multiple cultures and traditions. We are also the pearl of the orient, an enchanted archipelago, a beautiful tropical country with fascinating landscapes, a forests and the most colorful sunsets. We are very abundant in natural resources. We are very proud to have one of the best beaches in the world such as Boracay and Palawan that is definitely worth visiting. It truly is more fun in the Philippines because of the wonderful destinations, and one more vital or essential thing on why I can say we are a very good place for tourist, is because of our people. Filipinos are the most kind, friendly and hospitable people in the world worth being proud of.
Describe your childhood/growing years:
I had a very happy childhood. I was a very happy and energetic little girl! I was pretty much friends with everyone. Also, I was an honor student and a teacher’s pet. My hair, which was light blonde at that age, eventually grew to Ash blonde/brown.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
Enjoy every bit of it. Never be in a rush to grow up.
What is your most memorable moment?
We would celebrate every Christmas in our home and the family would be complete. It has always been tradition to have turkey– really good turkey, prepared by my mom! Also, when I was 9 years old, my mom threw me a huge Tweety Bird birthday party! Everything was Tweety Bird, down to the cake, clay pots, and loot bags!
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose it?
The year 2012 I believe, is a time for positive change. It’s time to put our foot down when it comes to conserving and preserving our natural resources. I will stand as a strong leader and role model to educate, inform and spread awareness, not only for ourselves but also, of course, for the future generations.
What tip can you share to promote sustainable energy for all?
Turn off your lights at home when not in use. Opt for the electric fan when it is not too warm instead of the AC. Walk!
Miss Earth 2012 coronation will happen tonight in Versailles Palace,Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines. It will be shown live via Star World at 8 PM and delayed telecast on ABS CBN on November 25, 2012 10 AM.

After the success of June Macasaet in Manhunt International 2012 held in Thailand, another Pinoy is representing our country in another international male pageant, Mister International 2012.
Mark John Gutoman, 21 year old teacher from Marikina, won as Mister Philippines and now competing to ge the first Mister International title for our country.
Mark, for me, may not be as gorgeous as the other contestants and favorites in the competition but he has that determination to make our country proud. He has this boy next door look compared to other hunks in the competition, but that’s making him stand out.
Almost 50 gorgeous men from other countries are now in Thailand for the 7th edition of Mister International. Cesar Curti from Brazil is the last year’s winner.
Mister International 2012 finals will be held on November 24, 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand.
