Fisher Mall hosted the 2014 Misters of the Philippines Festival Costume Competition last Augsust 31 at the mall’s atrium.
The 25 Candidates paraded and showed off their festival costumes to the public and the members of the media as a panel of judges. The costumes depicted different representations of cities, municipalities, communities or provinces that the candidates are representing – a true showcase of the rich color of the Philippine culture.
“We want to showcase the culture of the Philippines from the costumes that we have here,” mentioned PEPPS Project Director Carlo Morris Galang.
Stylist Shandy Montecarlo Lim could not agree more.” It is also a showcase of the creativity of our fashion designers and uniqueness of their designs.”
Capes, feathers, and fabric of all shades of color crowd the stage at the Atrium of Fisher Mall. But apart from the garb, the event became a jumping point on one of the advocacies of the pageant – to give back.
“We asked the audience today to donate an item that we can give to our beneficiaries at the Boys Town. We plan to take our candidates there so that they can become the “kuya” or brothers to the residents there,” Galang further said.
